State of Ohio Hospital Quality Report

Twice a year Ohio hospitals
submit to the
Ohio Department of Health (ODH) data that measures hospitals’ quality in
certain areas.
The department is
currently collecting six measures endorsed by the Joint Commission, the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the National Quality Forum
regarding heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia. In addition, the
department is collecting five Patient Safety Indicators created by the
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality regarding surgical procedures.
Greater Cincinnati Health Council - Hospital Quality Improvement Project (HQIP)
This report reflects hospital performance in 2005, building on
aggregate hospital data for 4th quarter 2004 data. A
hospital's quality is more than just its scores on these measures. This
report is part of a larger effort, the Hospital Quality Improvement Project, in
which hospitals have come together in a non-competitive setting to help one
another in their journey to provide better care both within their own
institutions and across the entire community.
Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association - Quality of Care Report for Montgomery
County
This report provides an overview of mortality rates for
2003 through 2005, length of stay, and a summary of process of care
measures for 2005. It includes comparisons with other regions of Ohio and the
state. Hospital-specific summaries are available for the
process of care regarding heart attack and congestive heart failure.

Access information on the quality of care in hospitals that volunteer to report
data for heart attack, heart failure and pneumonia care.
